2020 Subaru Legacy Engine Options

There are two different engines that can drive your new Subaru Legacy. The one considered standard is a 2.5L flat-four. When this is the engine underneath the hood, the Legacy produces 182-horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. The team here at Mark Miller Subaru South Towne can also show you the XT models, which are powered by a turbocharged 2.4L four-cylinder engine that generates 260-horsepower as well as 277 lb-ft of torque.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is often a decision-making factor for consumers. Luckily, the Legacy offers up some highly respectable numbers in this regard. With the standard engine, you can expect to see 27 mpg in the city as well as 35 mpg on the highway. Those who decide to go with the more powerful engine will take only a slight efficiency hit, instead getting 24 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highways of Riverton.

Legacy Trim Levels

You get to choose from six different trim levels with the Legacy, all of which have all-wheel-drive and a continuously variable transmission. It can be hard to know which one is the right choice for you, considering how well-equipped all of the trims are. The entry-level base model, for example, gives you highly desirable features like automatic climate control as well as LED headlights.

Tech and Safety Features

There is also plenty of tech and safety in all six of the Legacy models. Your infotainment system runs on a 7-inch touchscreen for the base model and an 11.6-inch touchscreen for all others. The system can work with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. You get at least two USB ports as well as satellite and HD radio.

The Subaru's EyeSight bundle of driver aids is included on all models as well. Your Legacy will have the features that actually make a difference in real-world driving situations, such as lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. Certain trims offer you even more safety features, like a blind-spot monitor, driver drowsiness monitor, and reverse automatic braking.

Luxury or Sporty

If you elect to go with the Premium trim level your Legacy, will add even more luxury, such as dual-zone automatic climate control and heated front seats. This model further adds power-adjustment for the driver's seat and a stylish leather-wrapped steering wheel. Crave a more athletic ride? The Sport trim level may be right for you. It gets special exterior accents as well as red stitching inside the cabin. This trim sits on head-turning 18-inch wheels and adds features like keyless entry and ignition.

Drivers in Sandy can also drive the Limited trim. These models of the Legacy do not have the sportier features found on the trim before it. Instead, going with the Limited will give you leather upholstery, heated rear seats, and a 12-speaker premium audio system. Also found here are adaptive headlights, which can greatly increase safety by helping to illuminate the road ahead around corners and curves.

There is also a Limited XT model to consider. This trim level is equipped the same way as the standard Limited model but gives you the more powerful engine. At the very top of the line lives the Touring XT model. On top of having the turbocharged engine, it also adds ventilation for the front seats and stylish chrome trim. There is even upgraded leather for the upholstery here.
