Through our combined efforts during this partnership, we have supported over 550,000 cancer patients nationwide. Together, we are proud to be Blood Cancer United's largest automotive donor.

At Wasatch Community Gardens, we believe meaningful change happens when our community comes together to support one another. Recently, our team had the honor of joining Mark Miller Subaru for a special evening recognizing Volunteers of America and the incredible youth who are facing and/or experiencing homelessness. It was a night filled with connection, compassion, and celebration of the resilience and potential of these young individuals. Mark Miller Subaru continues to show up for these youth by providing meals and creating spaces where community can come together. We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this effort and to support the important work being done to uplift and empower young people in our community. Thank you to our incredible partners at Volunteers of America, the Humane Society, and Mark Miller Subaru for bringing everyone together and creating such a meaningful evening. Gathering around a shared meal created a welcoming space where stories were exchanged, relationships were strengthened, and community was built. One of the most powerful moments of the evening came when our Job Training Program Director and a member of our Green Team shared their personal stories. As women who have faced or experienced homelessness themselves, they spoke about their journeys, the impact of the Green Team, and how employment, mentorship, and community support have helped them build confidence, stability, and hope for the future. Their stories are a powerful reminder that when we invest in people, we cultivate more than gardens, we cultivate opportunity, belonging, and lasting change. We are thankful for every partner, volunteer, and supporter who helps us continue growing food, community, and resilience throughout Salt Lake City.
Planting Seeds of Pride, Community, and Connection - Alicia R.
As we celebrated the 2026 Utah Pride Festival on June 6th and 7th, we were excited to explore another opportunity to partner with our friends at Mark Miller Subaru to create meaningful community experiences together. This year's festival reminded us that some of the best conversations begin with something simple, and a little fun. Our "Guess the Fruit & Veggie" game brought smiles to kids and adults alike as they tested their produce knowledge for the chance to win stickers, seed packets, and flower bulbs to take home. Every prize carried the promise of something that could grow, just like the connections we were making throughout the day. What started as a game quickly blossomed into conversations about community, food access, food justice, and the importance of growing healthy, organic, local food. Families shared gardening stories, neighbors exchanged ideas, and festival-goers discovered new ways they could support a more resilient and equitable local food system. These are the moments that define our mission: empowering people to grow and eat healthy, organic, local food while building stronger, more connected communities. We're grateful to celebrate Pride alongside partners who believe in showing up for their communities. Together with Mark Miller Subaru, we have the opportunity to continue creating welcoming spaces where learning, laughter, and shared purpose come together, one seed, one conversation, and one community at a time. On May 30, Wasatch Community Gardens had the pleasure of partnering with Mark Miller Subaru to table at Live Daybreak's Ladybug Festival, and what an incredible day it was! The community showed up in a big way, and together we were able to distribute hundreds of fruit and vegetable seeds, connect with families and gardeners of all experience levels, and share resources about our programs along with tips to help new gardeners grow with confidence. Partnerships like this create lasting impact. By working together, we're helping make gardening, fresh food, and community education more accessible to everyone. We're so grateful to Mark Miller Subaru for their continued collaboration and commitment to supporting healthy, thriving communities. Here's to growing even more together!
Blanket Delivery with Blood Cancer United for Utah Cancer Specialists - Jordan Valley Cancer Center - McCall H.
On July 2nd, Mark Miller Subaru South Towne partnered with Blood Cancer United (formerly The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) and Utah Cancer Specialists at the Jordan Valley Cancer Center through the Subaru Loves to Care initiative. This partnership includes delivering blankets and messages of hope to cancer patients. We are so grateful to Mark Miller Subaru South Towne for continuing to show up for our community, and it was incredible to partner with Utah Cancer Specialists at the Jordan Valley Cancer Center as the recipient of their generous donation. It was truly a meaningful day!
More Than a Meal: A Community Comes Together for Youth - Alysha S.
On the evening of June 17th, something special happened in the parking lot of the Volunteers of America Utah Youth Resource Center. What began as a monthly volunteer meal service was transformed by Mark Miller Subaru into a full community celebration for the young people the YRC serves. For months, the Mark Miller Subaru team had been showing up consistently, serving meals to youth experiencing homelessness and housing instability. But this time, they wanted to do something more. Clients knew a food truck was coming, but what greeted them that evening was so much more than dinner. They rolled up with community partners, activities, and an energy that turned a simple meal into a full evening of connection and fun. "It was such a treat for the clients. You could just feel how much it meant to them." - Alysha Sutton, Director of Community Engagement, Volunteers of America Utah The event brought together a remarkable circle of community voices. Equality Utah was on hand to connect with clients and share resources. Wasatch Community Gardens tabled with information and giveaways. The Humane Society showed up with care resources for clients who have pets and, most memorably, brought a puppy named Buddy who spent the evening being loved on and petted by everyone around him. Mark Miller Subaru's own team set up a table with fans, dog toys, treats, and a hands-on craft project for clients to enjoy. And then there was the car. Mark Miller Subaru brought out a Subaru vehicle and invited clients to draw on it, write on it, and make it their own. Clients wore Subaru capes, their pets wore them too, and people wandered the parking lot with their tacos, laughing and creating together. For a few hours on a June evening, the parking lot became something unexpected: a community. What made this event so meaningful was not just the generosity of any one partner, but the way Mark Miller Subaru brought so many organizations together with a single purpose: to make the youth we serve feel seen, celebrated, and cared for. For clients who navigate significant daily challenges, an evening like this is more than fun. It is a reminder that their community shows up for them. Mark Miller Subaru's Love Promise is not a one-time gesture. It is a sustained commitment, built meal by meal and moment by moment, to the young people of Utah who need it most. As one of Mark Miller Subaru's local charity partners during the annual Share the Love Event, USARA was selected by customers purchasing or leasing new Subaru vehicles throughout the holiday season. Those choices translated into meaningful support for recovery services, family support, and community events that bring people together. What made this partnership especially meaningful was that Mark Miller Subaru didn't just provide funding, they showed up. When they presented their donation, they joined us at Family Fun Night and generously provided dinner for approximately 60 attendees, including families, USARA participants, and clients from two treatment centers. The evening was filled with laughter, connection, and the reminder that recovery is strengthened through community. Every day, USARA helps individuals and families navigate recovery by providing peer support, resources, and opportunities to build healthy relationships. The support from Mark Miller Subaru helps make that work possible. We are deeply grateful for Mark Miller Subaru. Their partnership demonstrates that when a community invests in hope and healing, lives are transformed. Together, we are helping individuals in Utah find recovery, strengthening families, and creating a brighter future for generations to come.
Girls on the Run Utah 5K Race in the Rain - Mark Miller Subaru Adding Sunshine - Heidi M.
Some days, the rain pours. And some days, hope pours right along with it. On May 31, our Girls on the Run Utah community gathered for our season-ending 5K. The skies opened up, and rain fell steadily throughout the event. Running a 5K is hard. Running a 5K in the rain is even harder. But our girls showed us exactly what they've been learning all season: how to do hard things. With courage, determination, and bold hearts, they crossed the finish line surrounded by teammates, coaches, families, and a community that believes in them. They kept going, believed in themselves, and supported one another through every challenge, rain included. Adding an incredible ray of sunshine to an otherwise stormy day was Mark Miller Subaru. We are deeply grateful to Mark Miller Subaru for joining us at the 5K and for presenting Girls on the Run Utah with an extraordinary $63,900 donation through the Subaru Share the Love Promise campaign. Their generosity is more than a gift, it is an investment in the confidence, joy, health, and future of thousands of girls across Utah. As our participants crossed the finish line, the rain reminded us that growth often happens through life's storms. Building Inclusive Campuses Across Utah - Colter T.
Each year, Equality Utah hosts a dinner for their College Ambassador Program, where student ambassadors from campuses across Utah speak about their experiences. These ambassadors connect with students and faculty to make sure every student is represented and can access the resources they need. I got to attend this year's dinner and hear from several of these students about their work on campus. It was so inspiring to hear about the impact these students are making across the state. With the help of Equality Utah, they're empowering students all over the state. I'm really excited that Mark Miller Subaru is partnering with Equality Utah this year to support programs and initiatives like this, and all the other many other great things they do in our communities across the state!
Bringing Holiday Cheer to Students at Bacchus Elementary! - Hannah V.
The Utah Jazz, Granite Education Foundation, and Mark Miller Subaru teamed up this holiday season to tip off their annual Adopt-a-School festivities! Volunteers from the Jazz and MMS came together and put on their elf hats to pack 390 Santa Sacks for students at Bacchus Elementary School in Kearns. We surprised the elementary students with a holiday assembly where Jazz Bear and Jazz Dancers joined in on the fun. Student from each grade level competed in games for extra prizes and swag, filling the gym with cheers and smiles. At the end of the assembly, Bear revealed that the students would head home with a sack full of toys, hygiene items, and a gift card to help their families enjoy a special holiday meal. We are incredibly grateful for our continued partnership with Mark Miller Subaru, and their unwavering generosity in the community. We can't wait to keep the momentum going with more Adopt-a-School events ahead!
Meaningful Holiday Initiative - Tiffany N.
The holiday season has a way of magnifying both joy and stress. For families in recovery, it can be especially heavy; filled with hope, but also with reminders of what feels out of reach. My name is Kayla Jensen, as the Program Manager for our Salt Lake USARA office and as a woman in long-term recovery myself, I understand this reality deeply. It's why our Holiday Initiative isn't just a program to me, it's personal. Years ago, during my early recovery and while enrolled in a specialty court, the holidays felt overwhelming. I was learning how to rebuild my life one day at a time, balancing accountability, healing, and the desire to be present for my family. Financial stress was constant, and the thought of not being able to provide holiday gifts for my loved ones weighed heavily on me. When holiday support was offered to my family, it felt like a lifeline. It was one less thing to worry about during a season that already felt fragile. That support gave me space to focus on my recovery, to be present with my family, and to believe that brighter days were possible. That experience stayed with me. In 2021, we started our annual Holiday Initiative with a simple but powerful goal: to support families in recovery during the holidays, when they need it most. Each year, we partner with community organizations, donors, and volunteers to provide Christmas gifts to families who may not have any other means to do so. Families are nominated by members of our community who recognize their hard work, resilience, and commitment to recovery. What makes this initiative so meaningful is that it's about more than presents. It's about dignity. It's about reminding parents in recovery that they are seen, supported, and not alone. It's about giving children a holiday filled with joy and normalcy, regardless of the challenges their families are navigating. This year, thanks to the generosity of our donors and the dedication of our volunteers, we were able to provide holiday gifts for 39 individuals. Behind each number is a story; a parent showing up to treatment, a family rebuilding trust, a child waking up on Christmas morning feeling the magic they deserve. Seeing those gifts wrapped, labeled, and ready for distribution is a powerful reminder of what community support can accomplish. For me, standing on the other side of this initiative as someone in recovery has come full circle. I once received this kind of support when I needed it most. Now, I have the honor of helping provide it to others. The Holiday Initiative is proof that recovery doesn't happen in isolation. It happens in community, through compassion, generosity, and the belief that everyone deserves hope; especially during the holidays.
