Whether you want to make your morning commute more enjoyable, you want to explore the great outdoors and all the things it awards you here in Utah or you want a vehicle that's accommodating for the whole family and all of their activities, with so much to offer throughout the new 2018 Outback lineup, we're confident that we have a model that's right for you at Mark Miller Subaru South Towne! To help provide you with some perspective surrounding the value and versatility that the new Outback has to offer, we're going to compare it to the new 2018 Hyundai Tucson so you can see side by side why the new Outback remains one of the most popular vehicles for drivers here in Utah and across the country!

Performance

Here in Sandy and all over the Sandy area, we have many different destinations and outdoor activities to take part in. The new Outback allows you to enjoy them all thanks to standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and 8.7-inches of ground clearance. The Tucson comes equipped with standard front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive equipped models will cost you more, and with only 6.4-inches of ground clearance, it's going to be more difficult to take on deep snow or rugged terrain.

Under the hood, the Outback comes equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine that produces 175-horsepower, while the new Tucson comes equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces just 164-horsepower.

Even with more standard horsepower and standard all-wheel drive, the Outback still achieves a higher estimated fuel economy than the Tucson, offering up to 25 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway, while the Tucson falls short with 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.

Technology & Specs

The Outback comes equipped with a standard Starlink multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Tucson offers a standard multimedia system, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are only available on higher trim levels.

The Outback offers 108.1 cubic feet of passenger volume while the Tucson only offers 102.2 cubic feet of passenger volume. The Outback also offers up to 73.3 cubic feet of cargo space while the Tucson again falls short with 61.9 cubic feet of cargo space.

If you need more space for your things, the Outback comes equipped with standard raised roof rails, while the Tucson doesn't.
