Mark Miller Subaru Share the Love 2017: How the Event Worked and Who It Helped

Subaru Share the Love is a nationwide sales and charity event. For the 2017 event, Subaru of America donated $250 for every new Subaru sold or leased between November 16, 2017 and January 2, 2018. How Customers Chose Each customer selected one organization from two hometown charities or four national charities to receive the donation. The 2017 Hometown Charities Mark Miller Subaru selected the local VOA Homeless Youth Resource Center and Nuzzles and Co. Pet Rescue as its two hometown charities for 2017. The National Charities Subaru of America selected ASPCA, Meals on Wheels, Make A Wish, and the National Parks Foundation as the four national options. An Extra $50 for Local Mark Miller Subaru donated an additional $50, for a total of $300, whenever a new car customer selected one of the two hometown charities as the Share the Love recipient. The math was deliberate: it made choosing local worth more. Visit Mark Miller Subaru South Towne Mark Miller Subaru South Towne is at 10920 S. Service Paws and Patriots: The Gift of a Service Dog Transforms an Army Veteran Life

Through the Service Paws and Patriots campaign, Mark Miller Subaru and several other local businesses helped place a fully trained service animal with an Army veteran. How the Placement Happened The city of South Salt Lake was able to place Tink, a service animal, with Christine McKoon, a former combat helicopter pilot. What a Trained Service Animal Costs Fully trained service animals take years of work and are expensive to place, which is why campaigns like Service Paws and Patriots exist. Local businesses pooling resources is often the only way one of these placements happens at all. Supporting Veterans in Utah Mark Miller Subaru has backed a range of Utah causes over the years, from animal rescue to homeless youth to classrooms. Helping a veteran get the support animal she needed fits squarely in that line of work. Visit Mark Miller Subaru South Towne Mark Miller Subaru South Towne is at 10920 S. Hurricane Harvey Animals Get Care and Free Services in Layton With Mark Miller Subaru

Mark Miller Subaru teamed up with the Utah Animal Care Center to help animals affected by Hurricane Harvey find forever homes in Utah. Animals Displaced by the Storm Many of the animals were found scattered throughout the Houston area, looking for food and shelter after the hurricane. Free Care Before Adoption The Utah Animal Care Center in Layton provided free services including spaying, neutering, and shots to make sure the animals were healthy before being placed for adoption. Why Utah Shelters in a disaster zone fill past capacity fast, and moving healthy adoptable animals out of the region is what makes room for the ones still being rescued. Utah families ended up with new pets, and Houston shelters got breathing room. Visit Mark Miller Subaru South Towne Mark Miller Subaru South Towne is at 10920 S. Mark Miller Subaru Named Most Ethical Business at the Utah Ethical Leadership Awards

Nine Utah companies, nonprofits, and government agencies were honored at the third annual Utah Ethical Leadership Awards on September 9, 2016. Mark Miller Subaru was awarded the Most Ethical Business award. Who Gives the Award The awards are presented by the David Eccles School of Business Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative, the Daniels Fund, and the Community Foundation of Utah. Why It Matters in Car Retail Auto retail has a reputation problem it earned honestly. An ethics award handed out by a business school and two foundations is a different kind of recognition than a sales plaque, and it is the one we would rather hang on the wall. The Same Idea, Years Later The thinking behind that award is the same thinking behind how we price and sell today: clear numbers, no games, and a process a customer can follow without a decoder ring.
