Mark Miller Subaru Expands Support for Educators with VIP Discount and Classroom Donations At Mark Miller Subaru, we are deeply committed to giving back to our community — and one of the most meaningful ways we do this is by investing in education. Through our ongoing participation in the Subaru Loves Learning initiative, we support local schools and help provide access to the resources students and teachers need to succeed. As part of that commitment, we are proud to announce our expanded participation in the Subaru VIP Educator Program, now available to all school employees, including teachers, principals, and support staff. Through October 31, eligible educators can receive $500 off the purchase or lease of a new Subaru — a small way of recognizing their enormous contributions to our community. Program Details: $500 off the best negotiated price on a new Subaru Available to all PreK-12 school employees Eligibility verified through ID.me Operates similarly to the existing VIP Military Program This initiative complements our broader educational efforts. In collaboration with Adopt-A-Classroom.org, we are donating $6,000 to support 12 classrooms at Heartland Elementary and Philo T. Farnsworth Elementary, both Title I schools serving students in need. These funds will help teachers purchase essential supplies and create safe, welcoming learning environments. We understand that teachers often use their own money to ensure students have basic materials. By easing that burden, we allow educators to focus on what they do best — delivering high-quality education and inspiring the next generation. Supporting education is not just part of a campaign for us — it’s a core element of our Love Promise. From classroom donations to vehicle discounts, we’re proud to stand with Utah’s educators and invest in the future of our community. We invite you to join us in supporting local schools and driving positive change — because every student deserves the chance to learn, grow, and succeed. Learn More

Car Dealership Guy Covers Promise Path, Our Online Way to Buy

Car Dealership Guy has covered the launch of Promise Path, the fully online way to buy a vehicle from Mark Miller Subaru. Reporter Julie Walker described it as a Carvana style purchase option built by a franchised retailer, with the dealership still attached. What Promise Path Does Promise Path takes the entire purchase online in six steps. You browse our live inventory or build the vehicle you want, see upfront pricing and a full deal sheet right away, get a firm trade offer within three business hours, submit your credit application and documents, review your final numbers, and then pick up at Midtown or South Towne. An AI concierge named No Sell Nell is available around the clock to answer questions along the way. A person is always available if you would rather talk to one. Built On Promise Price None of this works without the pricing model underneath it. We moved to Promise Price in 2015: one fair price on every vehicle, no haggling, product specialists instead of commissioned salespeople, and buy rate financing with no markup. Because the price is already the price, it holds up the same online as it does in the showroom. The article notes that our team completed 40 test transactions before opening Promise Path to the public, and that the experience runs on 13 live integrations tied to our real inventory and real numbers. General Manager Chris Hudson told Car Dealership Guy that "the invisible middle is what we are solving towards," and described the long term goal as becoming "the UberEats of the franchised auto dealership." ASOTU: Mark Miller Subaru Built Its Own Carvana and Kept the Retailer

ASOTU: Mark Miller Subaru Built Its Own Carvana and Kept the Retailer

ASOTU published a feature on Promise Path with a headline that sums up the idea well: Mark Miller Subaru built its own Carvana, and it just kept the dealership attached. Fast Follower, Not Copycat The piece frames our approach as fast following rather than reinventing. Online retailers proved that people will buy a car from a screen. What they gave up was the store: the service drive, the local team, the place you can walk into when something needs attention. Promise Path keeps all of that and removes the part shoppers actually wanted gone, which is the negotiation. How It Works ASOTU walked through the same six steps our customers see. Pick from inventory or build a custom order. Get transparent pricing that does not move. Receive a guaranteed trade offer. Handle credit and documents online. Review and approve the final numbers. Then pick the vehicle up at Midtown in Salt Lake City or South Towne in Sandy. Our AI assistant, No Sell Nell, guides the process, and a human is one request away. What Comes Next The article notes that 40 transactions were completed before the public launch, which is what convinced us the model works inside a franchised store. It also points to what General Manager Chris Hudson is building toward: consolidating the 13 integrations behind Promise Path into a standard that other retailers could adopt, so this becomes a lane the whole industry can use rather than a one store experiment. Industry Watchers Spotlight Promise Path and No Sell Nell

Industry Watchers Spotlight Promise Path and No Sell Nell

Promise Path is drawing attention from people who study digital retail for a living. Matt Desmond, a digital customer experience consultant, wrote that Mark Miller Subaru has deployed an AI based retail experience best described as "skip the salesperson, keep the dealership." What They Noticed His read tracks with how we built it. Promise Path is closer to a Carvana experience than a traditional website form, but with a real store behind it. The AI agent, No Sell Nell, is wired directly into our own systems through a custom knowledge base and 13 live integrations, so it reads real time inventory, quotes actual upfront pricing, and works a real deal. No Haggle Means No Haggle One detail he called out is worth repeating: the agent does not negotiate. That is not a limitation we are working around, it is the model. Promise Price has meant one fair price for every shopper since 2015, so there is nothing to haggle over whether you are online at midnight or standing in the showroom on a Saturday. An Early Look At Where Retail Is Going Desmond framed Promise Path as a step forward for auto retail and expects more experimentation as AI is adopted across the industry. We agree, with one addition. The technology only earns trust if the pricing behind it is already honest. That is the part we spent a decade building before any of this went online. See how it works at markmillersubaru.com, or visit us at South Towne in Sandy or Midtown in Salt Lake City.

Chris Hudson on Car Dealership Guy: Shared AI Standards for Car Buying

General Manager Chris Hudson joined Daily Dealer Live, hosted by Sam D'Arc on the Car Dealership Guy Podcast, to talk about where AI agents are headed in car buying and what has to happen next for online purchases to get easier. The Problem With Agents That Cannot Talk Plenty of retailers and shopping sites now have some form of AI. What they do not have is a shared way for those systems to talk to each other. A buyer's assistant and a retailer's assistant can each be capable and still fail to complete anything together, because there is no common language between them. As Hudson put it on the show, "the next step is creating systems that allow them to communicate and work together." The Track Is Already Laid That work is not theoretical for us. The infrastructure behind Promise Path was built to be shared rather than kept private. "We've got the railway built, it's available," Hudson said. "It's basically a standard that anyone could use, any other dealership." Why It Matters For Shoppers For someone buying a Subaru in Sandy or Salt Lake City, the payoff is simple. Standards mean the price you see is the real price, the trade number is a real number, and the steps between choosing a vehicle and taking delivery get shorter. That is the same promise we have made since moving to Promise Price in 2015, now applied to the tools people actually shop with. Mark Miller Subaru Wins the 2023 Cox Automotive Leader in Sustainability Award

Mark Miller Subaru has been named the recipient of the Cox Automotive Leader in Sustainability Award. The honor recognizes one retailer each year for outstanding in-retailer sustainability programs, and it reflects work happening every day at both our South Towne and Midtown stores. What the Leader in Sustainability Award Recognizes Cox Automotive presents this award to a retailer with standout programs in waste reduction, energy, or water conservation, judged on innovation, creativity, and engagement with employees and the community. It is a national recognition. A Utah First in the Subaru Eco-Friendly Retailer Program Mark Miller Subaru was the first retailer in Utah to be certified in the Subaru Eco-Friendly Retailer Program. Being environmentally friendly is not a trend here, it is a way of life, and it shapes how the business runs. Solar Power and Recycled Water at Both Retailers Both Mark Miller Subaru retailers are solar powered and run highly efficient water reclamation systems. Between the two rooftops there are more than 1,200 solar panels, which allow roughly 60 percent of our power to come from the sun. The car washes at both locations recycle their water, saving 75 gallons per wash. $3.7 Million Given Back Since 2010 Since 2010, Mark Miller Subaru has donated over $3.7 million to charity to help people, pets, and the planet. Where the Award Funding Is Going The award comes with $10,000 to fund a sustainability project. We are partnering with our Subaru Loves the Earth partner, HawkWatch International, to put those funds toward conservation efforts here in our community. "We only have one planet, and we have to protect it." Jeff Miller, CEO and General Manager Visit Mark Miller Subaru South Towne Mark Miller Subaru South Towne is at 10920 S. TIS the Season to Recycle With Mark Miller Subaru

The holidays bring more boxes, more paper, and more waste than any other stretch of the year. At Mark Miller Subaru South Towne, recycling is not a seasonal push. It is built into how the store runs every day. Recycling Is Part of How We Operate Mark Miller Subaru was the first retailer in Utah to be certified in the Subaru Eco-Friendly Retailer Program. Both locations are solar powered, with more than 1,200 panels across the two rooftops supplying roughly 60 percent of our electricity. Both car washes recycle their water, saving 75 gallons per wash, and both stores run highly efficient water reclamation systems. Easy Ways to Cut Holiday Waste A few small habits make a real difference between Thanksgiving and New Year: Break down and flatten shipping boxes so they actually fit in the bin Skip glitter and foil wrap, which cannot be recycled, and use paper or reusable bags instead Recycle string lights and electronics at a drop off site rather than tossing them Compost food scraps from holiday cooking Bring your own bags for gift shopping Subaru Loves the Earth Subaru Loves the Earth is one of the pillars of the Subaru Love Promise, and it is the piece that fits our corner of the world best. Utah air and Utah water are why a lot of our Sandy and Salt Lake Valley customers live here, and protecting them is part of the job. How the Utah Jazz and Mark Miller Subaru Are Supporting English Language Learners at West Lake Jr. High

Mark Miller Subaru and the Utah Jazz are long-term business partners, and the two organizations started a joint philanthropic initiative to support learning in our community. West Lake STEM Jr. High was selected as the first beneficiary. A School That Needed the Help While all schools have struggled in recent years, West Lake STEM Jr. High faced greater challenges because of irreparable damage caused by the 2020 earthquake in Utah. The original West Lake Jr. High had to be demolished, and students were bussed to a previously decommissioned elementary school in Taylorsville. Twenty-Five Languages in One Building West Lake STEM is a vibrant and diverse middle school that uses creative, engaging, hands-on teaching to meet the needs of a highly impacted student body. Twenty-five different languages are spoken within its halls, and for 70 percent of students English is not their first language. Many students at West Lake STEM recently moved to America. Entering school for the first time in a new country is a significant challenge for Multi-Language Learner students. Most are learning about a new community and looking for a place to belong. They walk on campus without friends, without knowing their teachers, and without being sure what middle school is all about. For some, it is their first experience in an educational setting, and many find that their teachers do not speak their language. A Combined $30,000 for a New Language Lab To help West Lake STEM support these English Language Learners, Mark Miller Subaru and the Utah Jazz jointly donated a combined $30,000 for a new language lab inside the school. What the Lab Changes Research shows that language acquisition improves through consistent practice. The lab increases practice opportunities and engagement in language learning, and it supports students socially and emotionally by giving them more ways to communicate with each other and with a wider range of classmates. The language lab was officially unveiled during a school-wide celebration on Friday, November 11, 2022. Visit Mark Miller Subaru South Towne Mark Miller Subaru South Towne is at 10920 S. Utah Jazz and Mark Miller Subaru Donate $30,000 to the West Lake STEM Language Lab

WEST VALLEY, Utah. Through the Adopt-A-School program, the Utah Jazz and Mark Miller Subaru donated nearly $30,000 to renovate the computer language lab at West Lake STEM Junior High. A New Language Lab for West Lake STEM Twenty-five different languages are spoken among the Multi-Language Learner students at West Lake STEM. To meet that need, both organizations purchased the Renaissance 2.0 Language Lab System for the school computer language lab. The new lab includes 36 stations for students. Unveiling Day The lab was unveiled on November 11 at 10:45 a.m., following a school assembly, according to a release from the Jazz. Why This Partnership Matters "Mark Miller Subaru is proud of our long-time partnership with the Utah Jazz and are truly honored to be standing alongside them in making this meaningful financial contribution to West Lake Jr. High School." Jeff Miller, owner of Mark Miller Subaru "It is our hope that this investment for advanced classroom technology will help English Language Learners at West Lake Junior High while simultaneously connecting students from various backgrounds and cultures to one another in both a powerful and life-changing manner." Jeff Miller More Projects Ahead In addition to the language lab, three more projects were scheduled at the school during the 2022-23 Jazz season.
